As the HIV/AIDS community gathers for the AIDS 2018 conference in Amsterdam, we aim to bring young people’s issues to Amsterdam, so that we ensure they are not left out.
In the aftermath of the High-Level Meeting on ending AIDS, The PACT with support from UNAIDS worked on launching #UPROOT, a political agenda tackling the structural and systemic issues that keep young people left behind in the HIV response. Now the Amsterdam Youth Force in cooperation with The PACT will take the three P’s of youth involvement from the #UPROOT agenda - Policy, Partnership and Participation- and use those to gather young people’s perspectives. With these perspectives we will produce a position paper on young people and HIV/AIDS. Depending on the outcomes of this questionnaire additional topical papers can be added. The gathering of input will be done via a global consultation and the papers will be created by a collaborative writing process where we invite young people to share their experience and demands, so that we can build up evidence to support the objectives of the #UPROOT agenda.
